Suggestion for flashcard functions:
1. It would be nice if one could check a word on a flashcard in the dictionary or lessons, then go back to where you left off in the flashcard set. Currently, if you click on the Dictionary tab to look up a word, you have to go back to select the set from the FlashCards and start over. Actually, being able to move from any tab to another without losing your place in the previous tab would be helpful.

2. Could there be a way to customize the repeat interval for flashcards? I find I need to repeat the flashcards much sooner than currently suggested.

3. I think a round of going through a flashcard set should continue until all cards have been answered correctly, possibly more than once correctly. Or at least in the "stats" after a set is finished it should say how many correct and error responses occurred to hep decide if starting over is needed.

@Silverfoxdr Thanks for the suggestions!

#1.) is hard to implement.

#2.) might be doable! I have also been thinking the increment is too far apart.

#3.) Hmm...to finish a set, you have to get every card "correct" 3x. You work through all cards until you mark them all correct once, then the deck shuffles and you do it again, and then a third time. Only after the third time do you earn the "star".

Hmm. On #3 it seems I finish sets and earn a star before I feel I know the cards. After my post, I discovered the card sets for missed cards. That proved useful for supplemental review.

@FilipinoChatAdmin I've been doing a lot of the flashcards myself and have also thought about how little information I get at the completion of a round.

Particularly in the early stages it might be helpful to list words I had trouble with. One way that's addressed in the site is the "recently wrong" card set. But that takes extra steps we may not always take.

I think it's an issue of psychology; we feel a need to know how well, or how poorly we have done on a given task--maybe that's why it feels like we're not getting enough feedback.

Maybe inform the user of which cards will be added to the recently wrong stack at the end of the session?

This is still the best site.
Cheers.

@Silverfoxdr in the initial run if there flash cards my approach basically is to mainly familiarize myself with the words, I'm not so concerned about feeling like I've learned them right away. I think that's sort of the point of spaced repetition though. You get better with each round.

One thing I do in the later stages is to add words I find I'm having trouble with to my own custom stack so I can focus on them a little more.

Cheers.

I agree, scoring is probably a good idea. If you click the "Gear" icon it will give you a # correct & # wrong stats, but maybe making this more prominent would be good.

Also, the intended use is that you click "Wrong" any time you don't immediately know a word you see. That means the first time you run through a card set, you should keep seeing a word until you get it right...may 5 or 10 or 15 times, and then finish only when you mark every card "Correct" 3x.

On #3 it seems I finish sets and earn a star before I feel I know the cards.

You should never finish a set unless you pretty much know all the cards, unless you're hitting the "Correct" button when you don't actually recall the cards (?). As long as you hit "Wrong," it will keep that card in rotation until you learn it fully.

I am probably clicking correct more than I should when I need to think a few seconds. I was intending to get more critical, only clicking correct if I can answer immediately, after I had gotten more familiar with a card set. apparently wrong strategy.
